Description

Deliciously fluffy and warm glazed donuts that bring the taste of Dunkin Donuts to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 TBSP yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 stick butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp vanillin (vanilla sugar)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix together the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, warm milk, salt, eggs, and egg yolks. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add yeast mixture: Pour the activated yeast mixture into the bowl with the other ingredients. Stir to combine well.
  4. Add flour: Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition.
  5. Knead the dough: Transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough: After it’s risen, punch the dough down and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  8. Cut the donuts: Use a donut cutter to cut the donuts and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Second rise: Let the shaped donuts rise for an additional 30 minutes covered with a towel.
  10. Fry the donuts: Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the donuts.
  11. Make the glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, water, and vanillin until smooth.
  12. Glaze the donuts: Dip them into the glaze and allow excess to drip off.
