A light and airy vanilla mousse that is rich and satisfying, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup sour cream or mascarpone cheese
Instructions
- Sprinkle the gelatin over the water in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Mix the sour cream or mascarpone until it’s nice and smooth.
- Heat the gelatin mixture until it’s completely dissolved, being careful not to boil.
- Fold the dissolved gelatin into the whipped cream mixture gently.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the gelatin mixture until combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Serve with berries, chocolate shavings, or a drizzle of sauce. Add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprig of mint for flair.
