Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or mascarpone cheese

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the gelatin over the water in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  3. Mix the sour cream or mascarpone until it’s nice and smooth.
  4. Heat the gelatin mixture until it’s completely dissolved, being careful not to boil.
  5. Fold the dissolved gelatin into the whipped cream mixture gently.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the gelatin mixture until combined.
  7. Spoon the mousse into serving dishes.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with berries, chocolate shavings, or a drizzle of sauce. Add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprig of mint for flair.
