Tasty Churro Donut Bites

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delightful churro donut bites coated in cinnamon-sugar, with a fluffy center that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Grab a bowl and mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until it’s well combined, and set it aside.
  2. Combine the milk, egg, and melted butter in another bowl. Whisk these wet ingredients together until they blend smoothly.
  3. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; be careful not to over-mix. The batter should be slightly lumpy for that perfect texture!
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. You’ll know it’s ready when a small drop of batter sizzles upon contact.
  5. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying each until they turn golden brown. Keep an eye on them to ensure they cook evenly.
  6. Remove the donut bites from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to get rid of excess oil.
  7. Mix additional sugar and cinnamon together in a separate bowl for coating.
  8. Roll the warm donut bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they’re fully coated.
  9. Serve them warm and enjoy the delightful bursts of flavor!

Notes

Best served warm with dipping sauces like melted chocolate or caramel. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 1-2 months.
