Description
Delightful churro donut bites coated in cinnamon-sugar, with a fluffy center that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating
Instructions
- Grab a bowl and mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until it’s well combined, and set it aside.
- Combine the milk, egg, and melted butter in another bowl. Whisk these wet ingredients together until they blend smoothly.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; be careful not to over-mix. The batter should be slightly lumpy for that perfect texture!
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. You’ll know it’s ready when a small drop of batter sizzles upon contact.
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying each until they turn golden brown. Keep an eye on them to ensure they cook evenly.
- Remove the donut bites from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to get rid of excess oil.
- Mix additional sugar and cinnamon together in a separate bowl for coating.
- Roll the warm donut bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they’re fully coated.
- Serve them warm and enjoy the delightful bursts of flavor!
Notes
Best served warm with dipping sauces like melted chocolate or caramel. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 1-2 months.
