Slow Cooker Lasagna

  • Total Time: 260 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings
  • Diet: Non-Vegetarian

Description

A rich and hearty lasagna made effortlessly in a slow cooker, featuring layers of pasta, savory meat, melty cheese, and zesty marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce
  • Ground beef (or sausage)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Grab a skillet and brown the ground beef (or sausage). Add chopped onions and garlic to the pan, letting their flavors meld with the meat. Keep stirring until the meat is nicely browned. After it’s cooked, drain the excess fat.
  2. Create layers in the slow cooker, starting with a scoop of marinara sauce at the bottom to prevent sticking.
  3. Break the lasagna noodles into pieces and place them on top of the sauce. Add a dollop of ricotta cheese, followed by mozzarella, and then the browned meat mixture.
  4. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the layers for added flavor.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 240 to 360 minutes.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving for easier slicing.

Notes

Allowing the lasagna to rest before serving helps with layering.
