Description
A delightful and quick meal featuring succulent shrimp and creamy basil pesto over pasta, ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1/4 cup basil pesto
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions until it reaches that perfect al dente texture. Drain it and set it aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season it with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp until it turns pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Once the shrimp is done, reduce the heat and add the basil pesto to the skillet. Stir well to coat the shrimp evenly with the pesto.
- Now, it’s time to add the cooked pasta to the skillet! Toss everything together gently to ensure that the flavors mix beautifully.
- Serve your delicious pasta immediately. You can garnish it with fresh basil and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top if you like that extra touch.
Notes
For a refreshing twist, add a squeeze of lemon juice just before serving to enhance all the flavors.
