  • 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, cut into pieces (optional)
  • 2 cups (480ml) heavy cream, divided
  • 3 tablespoons (60g) light corn syrup, divided
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) pure vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start with Nutella and Butter: Begin by placing Nutella and optional butter pieces in a medium bowl. Set this aside as we prep the cream mixture.
  2. Heat the Cream and Corn Syrup: In a medium saucepan, heat one cup of heavy cream along with two tablespoons of light corn syrup over medium heat. Let it simmer, avoiding a boil.
  3. Mix It Together: Once the cream mixture simmers, remove it from the heat. Pour this over the Nutella and butter mixture.
  4. Whisk Until Smooth: Cover the bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then, whisk everything until smooth.
  5. Cool at Room Temperature: Set the ganache aside for about 15 minutes to thicken.
  6. For the Frosting Version: Heat another cup of cream with a tablespoon of butter until boiling. Pour over a cup of Nutella and stir in the corn syrup, then cool before whipping.
  7. For Dipping: Mix equal parts Nutella, heavy cream, and corn syrup in a bowl over simmering water until smooth, then cool slightly.
