Description

Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce (optional)
  • Ranch dressing (optional)
  • Garlic aioli (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If you wish, cut the mozzarella sticks in half to create longer pieces.
  3. Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, shaking off the excess.
  4. Dip the floured mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Roll the egg-coated mozzarella stick in the breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere.
  6. Repeat this process for all cheese sticks.
  7. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches until they are golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic aioli for dipping.

Notes

For an extra crispy texture, double-dip the mozzarella sticks in egg and breadcrumbs. Maintain oil temperature to ensure even cooking.
