Ingredients

  • Cabbage leaves
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or basil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
  3. Mix cooked lentils, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, and herbs in a large bowl.
  4. Separate cabbage leaves and fill each leaf with a portion of the lentil mixture, rolling them up tightly.
  5. Place them seam side down in a baking dish.
  6. Pour tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy your hearty and healthy meal!

Notes

For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs and serve alongside a fresh garden salad or yogurt.
