Ingredients

- Cabbage leaves
- 1 cup cooked lentils
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh herbs (like thyme or basil)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
- Mix cooked lentils, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, and herbs in a large bowl.
- Separate cabbage leaves and fill each leaf with a portion of the lentil mixture, rolling them up tightly.
- Place them seam side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy your hearty and healthy meal!
Notes
For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs and serve alongside a fresh garden salad or yogurt.
