- 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup freshly squeezed key lime juice
- 1 tablespoon key lime zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Start by mixing the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter in a bowl. Stir until the crumbs absorb the butter and resemble wet sand. Press this mixture into the bottom of your trifle dish.
- Whip the cream: In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Mix the cream cheese filling: Beat the softened cream cheese until it’s smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, followed by the lime juice, zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the lime mixture.
- Layer the trifle: Layer half of the lime mixture over the graham cracker crust. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on top, then repeat with the remaining lime mixture.
- Chill before serving: Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes.
Notes
For best results, chill mixing tools before whipping cream and use fresh key limes for the best flavor.
