Description
A warm and fluffy Middle Eastern flatbread infused with za’atar spice, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2–3 tablespoons za’atar spice blend
- Extra olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Combine warm water and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Create a well and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Punch down the risen dough, divide into small balls, and roll each into 1/4 inch thick rounds.
- Transfer each rolled-out dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush with olive oil and sprinkle generously with za’atar before baking.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Drizzle with more olive oil before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Perfect as a snack or served with dips like hummus. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
