- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cut the potatoes into even matchstick fries, about a quarter-inch thickness.
- Soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Toss the dried fries with olive oil and seasonings until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Cook the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket for 14 to 18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Serve immediately, sprinkling extra salt if desired.
Notes
Make sure to cut fries uniformly and dry them thoroughly to achieve maximum crispiness. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer for best results.
