Description

These homemade chicken nuggets are juicy, crunchy, and perfect for dipping, bringing the comfort of a favorite dish straight from your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, chopped into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups canola oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped chicken to a food processor. Blend it until it’s smooth.
  2. Incorporate the spices: onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, salt, and sugar. Also, add the water and cornstarch, mixing everything thoroughly.
  3. Shape it into 2″ x 2″ rectangles.
  4. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and pop the tray in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
  5. Heat up the oil in a pot or deep fryer.
  6. Coat each nugget in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then roll it in breadcrumbs.
  7. Fry them in batches for about 6-8 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  8. Remove them with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve with a variety of dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra flavor, experiment with different spices or herbs in your mixture. Don’t skip the freezing step for better shape retention while frying.
