Description
A quick and flavorful dish featuring savory ground beef and crisp broccoli in a tangy soy sauce glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned. Don’t forget to drain any excess fat before moving on to the next step.
- Next, toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté everything together until the onion becomes translucent—this usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
- Now, add the broccoli florets. Cook them for approximately 5 minutes until they’re tender-crisp. They should maintain a lovely bright green color.
- While that cooks, grab a small bowl and mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. This will create a nice, thick sauce for your dish.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli in the skillet. Stir everything well to ensure each piece gets coated with that delicious sauce. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
- Finally, season your dish with salt and pepper to taste. Serve it hot over a bed of cooked rice, and enjoy!
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
