- Breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until just tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to make a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, bringing the mixture to a simmer, and cook until thickened.
- Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce, adding salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish, and if desired, sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbling and golden.
