Description
A rich and creamy cheesecake made with crushed Oreo cookies and topped with more Oreos for a decadent dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups crushed Oreo cookies
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix the crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to create a solid crust.
- In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until it’s smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold this whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
- Fold in the remaining crushed Oreo cookies.
- Pour the cheesecake filling over the crust in the springform pan, making sure to spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes, checking until the center is set; the edges should look firm while the center remains slightly jiggly.
- Let the cheesecake cool in the pan to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or, preferably, overnight.
- Before serving, sprinkle extra crushed Oreo cookies on top for that final touch.
Notes
For the best flavor and texture, chill the cheesecake overnight. You can substitute cream cheese with low-fat or non-dairy options if desired.
