Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl until combined.
  2. Whisk together the melted butter, milk, and eggs in another bowl until well combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or a large glass and a shot glass.
  6. Fry the donuts in batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the donuts from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
  8. Roll the warm donuts in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy ideally with coffee or hot chocolate.
