- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl until combined.
- Whisk together the melted butter, milk, and eggs in another bowl until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or a large glass and a shot glass.
- Fry the donuts in batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
- Roll the warm donuts in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Serve warm and enjoy ideally with coffee or hot chocolate.

For best results, ensure oil temperature is maintained while frying and coat donuts while still warm.
