Ingredients

- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2/3 cup heavy cream, separated
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream until it’s warm but not boiling.
- Add the chocolate chips to the warm cream and stir until melted and smooth.
- Whip the remaining 2/3 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the whipped cream, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream until just combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Top with optional whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider variations like mint chocolate or orange zest.
