  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 cup chocolate custard (store-bought or homemade)
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter in a separate bowl.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  7. Cut the dough into circles using a doughnut cutter or cookie cutters.
  8. Let the circles rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Fry the doughnuts until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  11. Drain the doughnuts on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
  12. Fill each doughnut with chocolate custard using a piping bag.
  13. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
