- 1 lb chicken thighs, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 pita breads
- Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for serving
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add the sliced chicken and coat it well.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour or ideally overnight in the fridge for deeper flavor.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken until it’s golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl for the garlic sauce and stir until smooth.
- Slice the cooked chicken and serve it in the pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a generous drizzle of garlic sauce.
Notes
Marinate the chicken overnight for the best flavor. Store any leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 3-4 days.
