Ingredients

- 4 cups water (split into 1 cup and 3 cups)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup mint leaves (split into 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup)
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup of water, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of mint leaves in a saucepan to make mint syrup.
- Heat on medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Squeeze enough lemons to yield 1 cup of fresh lemon juice using a citrus squeezer.
- Pour 3 cups of cold water into a pitcher and add the fresh lemon juice.
- Strain the cooled mint syrup into the pitcher, discarding the mint leaves.
- Add fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices for garnish and stir well.
- Chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh lemons and mint. Adjust sweetness to taste, and allow the lemonade to chill before serving.
