Description
Vintage Pizza, also known as Grandma Pie, is a thick-crust classic with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and herbs baked to perfection.
Ingredients
3 cups bread flour
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
2 cups shredded mozzarella
Instructions
1. Mix yeast, warm water, and sugar. Let foam 5 minutes.
2. Combine flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
3. Let dough rise 1 hour in a greased bowl.
4. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
5. Spread dough into a greased sheet pan.
6. Top with tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, basil, and mozzarella.
7. Bake 20-25 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
8. Cool 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or cheddar.
Pre-bake crust for crispier texture if desired.
