Description
This Southern Banana Cobble is golden, gooey, and rich with caramelized bananas, buttery batter, and a hint of spice perfect for any comfort craving.
Ingredients
4 ripe bananas, sliced
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
6 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Place butter in 9×9 baking dish and melt in oven.
3. In a bowl, toss sliced bananas with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla until just combined.
5. Pour batter over melted butter do not stir.
6. Spoon banana mixture evenly on top.
7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
8. Let rest 10–15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge.
