Description
Delicious skirt steak tacos with fresh ingredients that are easy to prepare and perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb skirt steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro (chopped)
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Start by marinating the skirt steak. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and salt and pepper. Once combined, add the skirt steak and make sure it’s well-coated with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat your skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes while you prepare the tacos.
- After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.
- Take a tortilla and add a few slices of skirt steak to it. Top it off with chopped onion and fresh cilantro. Squeeze a wedge of lime over the top for flavor.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the wonderful flavors!
Notes
Allowing the steak to marinate longer enhances its flavor. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
