Description

Delicious skirt steak tacos with fresh ingredients that are easy to prepare and perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Start by marinating the skirt steak. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and salt and pepper. Once combined, add the skirt steak and make sure it’s well-coated with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat your skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  3. Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes while you prepare the tacos.
  4. After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.
  6. Take a tortilla and add a few slices of skirt steak to it. Top it off with chopped onion and fresh cilantro. Squeeze a wedge of lime over the top for flavor.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy the wonderful flavors!

Notes

Allowing the steak to marinate longer enhances its flavor. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
