Description
Sausage Broccoli Orzo is a one-pan, 30-minute dinner packed with flavor, creamy pasta, and nutritious broccoli.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lb chicken or turkey sausage, sliced or crumbled
1 small onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add sausage and cook until browned.
3. Stir in onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
4. Add orzo and stir to coat in flavors.
5. Pour in chicken broth, cover, and simmer 12–15 minutes.
6. Add broccoli during the last 5 minutes.
7. Stir in Parmesan cheese, season, and serve warm.
Notes
For extra creaminess, stir in a splash of cream or Greek yogurt before serving.
Use hot Italian sausage for a spicy kick.
