Description
A sweet, salty, and irresistibly crunchy treat buttery caramel poured over crisp pretzels and topped with melted chocolate and flaky sea salt. The ultimate no-fuss dessert bark everyone loves.
Ingredients
4 cups mini pretzels (or pretzel twists)
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, and arrange pretzels evenly in a single layer.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly, until caramel thickens slightly.
3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract carefully.
4. Pour the hot caramel evenly over the pretzels, spreading gently with a spatula to cover.
5. Bake for 5 minutes until the caramel is bubbling.
6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit 2–3 minutes to melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.
7. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while chocolate is still soft.
8. Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate until fully set.
9. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Add chopped nuts, crushed toffee, or a drizzle of white chocolate for extra flair.
Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or milk chocolate for extra sweetness.
Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
