Description
Sweet and tropical Rum-Soaked Fried Pineapple with caramelized edges easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup rum (optional)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. Peel and slice the pineapple into rings or chunks.
2. Mix rum and brown sugar in a bowl, soak pineapple for 30-60 minutes.
3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
4. Drain pineapple and fry until golden and caramelized, 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
6. Let rest 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Omit rum for non-alcoholic version.
Do not overcrowd the pan when frying.
Serve warm with grilled meats or ice cream.
