This Philly Steak & Cheese recipe combines tender beef, melty cheese, and sautéed veggies in a toasted roll for the ultimate hot sandwich experience.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese

4 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns

Instructions

1. Marinate steak in olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper for 15–30 minutes.

2. Heat skillet over medium-high. Sear steak in batches for 2–3 minutes.

3. Remove steak and sauté peppers and onions until soft.

4. Return steak to skillet, mix with veggies, and top with cheese.

5. Cover skillet and let cheese melt for 1–2 minutes.

6. Toast hoagie rolls and fill with meat-cheese mixture.

7. Let rest 2–3 minutes and serve hot.

Notes

Use a griddle for large batch cooking.

Freeze sliced raw steak for 20 minutes for easier slicing.

Add mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
