Description
A deliciously simple recipe for perfectly cooked steak, smothered in rich garlic butter and fresh rosemary.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 boneless ribeye or sirloin steak (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the steak: Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the skillet: Grab a large skillet and place it over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and heat until it shimmers.
- Sear the steak: Carefully add the steak to the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden-brown crust forms.
- Add butter and aromatics: Reduce heat to medium-low and add the unsalted butter, crushed garlic, and fresh rosemary to the skillet.
- Baste the steak: Use a spoon to baste the steak with the melted butter and garlic-rosemary mixture for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Rest and serve: Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with arugula salad, roasted vegetables, or creamy mashed potatoes. Slice against the grain for tender bites.
