Pan-Seared Steak with Garlic Butter and Rosemary

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A deliciously simple recipe for perfectly cooked steak, smothered in rich garlic butter and fresh rosemary.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless ribeye or sirloin steak (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the steak: Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the skillet: Grab a large skillet and place it over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and heat until it shimmers.
  3. Sear the steak: Carefully add the steak to the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden-brown crust forms.
  4. Add butter and aromatics: Reduce heat to medium-low and add the unsalted butter, crushed garlic, and fresh rosemary to the skillet.
  5. Baste the steak: Use a spoon to baste the steak with the melted butter and garlic-rosemary mixture for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Rest and serve: Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with arugula salad, roasted vegetables, or creamy mashed potatoes. Slice against the grain for tender bites.
