Description
Tender, caramelized mushrooms roasted with soy sauce and honey this savory-sweet dish is the perfect plant-based side or main.
Ingredients
16 oz cremini or button mushrooms
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1 garlic clove, minced
½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet.
2. Clean mushrooms and slice into halves or quarters.
3. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, oils, garlic, and pepper.
4. Toss mushrooms in marinade and let sit for 15 minutes.
5. Spread on sheet pan and roast for 20–25 minutes, stirring once.
6. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra caramelization.
7. Cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
Use tamari for gluten-free version.
Add chili flakes for heat or lemon zest for brightness.
Pairs well with grains or roasted protein.
