Description
Oven Braised Beer Brats with caramelized onions are juicy, tender, and bursting with rich flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
6 chicken brats
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 cups chicken broth
2 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 fresh thyme sprigs
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Pat brats dry and prick lightly with a fork.
3. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet and brown brats on all sides.
4. Remove brats and add onions, cooking until golden.
5. Stir in garlic, paprika, and thyme.
6. Return brats to skillet, pour in chicken broth.
7. Cover and braise in oven for 20–25 minutes.
8. Check internal temp reaches 165°F.
9. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use turkey brats if preferred.
Add apple slices during braising for a sweet touch.
Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days or freeze for 1 month.
