Description
A delicious and budget-friendly Philly cheesesteak packed with seasoned ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and gooey cheese, served in warm rolls.

- 500 g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 100 g sliced button mushrooms
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese (or other melting cheese)
- 4 small sub rolls (or baguettes)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Heat some olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Split the sub rolls and layer the beef and vegetables inside each roll.
- Top with provolone cheese.
- Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake until the cheese is melted, 5-10 minutes.
- Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the rolls before serving, if desired.
Notes
Pair with crispy potato fries or a light salad for a delightful meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for about 2 months.
