- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Scoop large portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
