- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to foam slightly.
- Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring constantly, until it becomes fragrant and just starts to turn golden.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring, then add the lemon zest. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing each addition to melt completely before adding more.
- Add the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the freshly chopped parsley just before serving.
- Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, seafood, or vegetables.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk if necessary.
