Description
These Layered Chocolate Mousse Brownies combine a fudgy base with airy chocolate mousse ideal for romantic Valentine’s dessert ideas.
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
½ cup cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup flour
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 baking pan.
2. Melt butter and combine with sugar, eggs, vanilla, cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
3. Pour batter into pan and bake 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.
4. Melt chocolate and let cool slightly. Whip cream with vanilla and sugar.
5. Fold in chocolate to create mousse and spread over brownies.
6. Chill 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra Valentine’s touch, top with heart-shaped sprinkles or strawberry slices.
Store refrigerated for up to 5 days.
