  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten-Free

Description

A warm, comforting Korean Beef Bowl featuring savory beef, sweet brown sugar, and sesame oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Choose a large skillet and heat it over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook it until it browns nicely, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger into the skillet with the beef. Stir together until well mixed.
  4. Allow this mixture to cook for an additional 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  5. Serve the beef mixture over warm cooked rice, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Serve with steamed broccoli or a cucumber salad; kimchi adds a great touch. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
