Description
This Herb Roasted Turkey is infused with citrus, garlic, and fresh herbs for a juicy, flavorful centerpiece perfect for holidays and family dinners.
Ingredients
1 whole turkey (10–14 lbs)
1 cup butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
Zest of 1 orange and 1 lemon
2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
2 tbsp thyme, chopped
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
2 oranges, halved
2 lemons, halved
Salt and black pepper to taste
Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
2. Pat the turkey dry and remove giblets.
3. Mix butter with garlic, citrus zest, and herbs.
4. Rub half the herb butter under the skin and half on top.
5. Stuff the cavity with citrus halves, garlic, and herbs.
6. Truss legs and place turkey on a roasting rack.
7. Roast 15 minutes per pound, basting every 45 minutes.
8. Check internal temperature: 165°F in the thigh.
9. Rest turkey 20–30 minutes before carving.
Notes
Dry-brine overnight with salt for extra flavor.
Use a digital thermometer for accuracy.
Leftovers can be stored 3–4 days in the fridge or frozen for 3 months.
