Ingredients

- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil for the waffle iron
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. If you want an extra protein boost, fold in Greek yogurt at this stage.
- Grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a bit of oil. Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your choice of toppings.
