- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup nut butter (such as almond or peanut)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional)
- 1/2 cup dried fruit or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, honey or maple syrup, applesauce, nut butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
- Fold in nuts, seeds, and dried fruit or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.

Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze them for longer storage.
