Description
Juicy Greek Chicken Gyros with lemon-herb marinade and homemade tzatziki a fresh, flavorful Mediterranean favorite.
Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
Juice & zest of 1 lemon
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
Pita bread
Tzatziki sauce
Instructions
1. Mix marinade ingredients in a bowl.
2. Add chicken and marinate 15 minutes to 4 hours.
3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until 165°F internal temp.
5. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
6. Serve in pita with tzatziki and toppings.
Notes
For a spicier gyro, add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper to the marinade.
Use lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
