Description
Soft, pillowy homemade flatbread infused with aromatic garlic and rich butter. This quick recipe requires no yeast and creates restaurant-quality bread in just 35 minutes.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup warm water (if needed)
4 tablespoons butter, melted
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Combine melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
3. Add Greek yogurt and olive oil to flour mixture. Mix with fork until shaggy dough forms.
4. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until smooth. Add water if needed.
5. Divide dough into 5 equal portions. Roll each piece into thin oval, about 1/4 inch thick.
6. Heat large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat.
7. Cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown spots appear and bread puffs slightly.
8. Immediately brush each warm flatbread with prepared garlic butter mixture.
9. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
Notes
Don’t overwork the dough to keep flatbread tender.
Maintain medium heat throughout cooking for even browning.
Brush with garlic butter while warm for maximum flavor absorption.
