Description

Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture; knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border.
  7. Top with sliced mozzarella and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Bake the pizza for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone and preheat it in the oven.
