Description
A crowd-pleasing butter chicken recipe enveloped in a creamy garlic-parsley sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken stock (use warm stock for better sauce consistency)
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Caramelized onions (for garnish, if desired)
- Shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese (optional topping)
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add the chicken pieces and season them with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for around 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover to keep warm.
- Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Toss in the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the warm chicken stock, whisk in the honey and dried parsley, and let the sauce simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it well in the sauce, and let it simmer gently for another 2-3 minutes.
- Plate the chicken and pour extra sauce over the top. Garnish with caramelized onions if desired and serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or warm bread.
Notes
Great served with fluffy rice or creamy mashed potatoes. Use warm stock for a creamier sauce.
