Description

A crowd-pleasing dish featuring crispy tortilla chips topped with savory, cheesy ground beef, perfect for game nights and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella, shredded
  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled jalapeño, for garnish
  • Cilantro, for garnish
  • 1.5 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Shred the cheese and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle a bit of oil and toss in the diced onions. Sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute.
  4. Add the ground beef into the pan and break up the clumps as it cooks.
  5. Once the beef is halfway cooked, sprinkle in all the seasonings except for the light soy sauce and the sugar.
  6. Stir until the spices blend in, then drizzle the soy sauce and add the sugar, mixing well.
  7. If desired, push the beef to one side and tilt the pan to collect grease.
  8. Add the shredded cheese on top of the beef, cover, and let sit until melted.
  9. Spread a layer of tortilla chips on a large plate and top with the cheesy ground beef.
  10. Garnish with pickled jalapeños and fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

Serve with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa for a complete flavor experience.
