Thick, soft Crumbl-style Christmas sugar cookies with signature bakery texture and festive frosting. Perfect for holiday celebrations!
Ingredients
2 3/4 cups cake flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2–3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions
1. Bring butter, eggs, and cream cheese to room temperature (2 hours)
2. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper
3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (4-5 minutes)
4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract
5. Whisk together cake flour, cornstarch, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt
6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined
7. Chill dough balls for 30 minutes minimum
8. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers look slightly underbaked
9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack
10. Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and fluffy
11. Frost cooled cookies and add decorations as desired
Notes
Don’t overbake – cookies continue cooking on hot pan after removal
Chill dough to prevent spreading and maintain thick texture
Use room temperature ingredients for best mixing results
Store unfrosted cookies in airtight containers up to one week
Freeze dough balls for baking later, add 1-2 extra minutes baking time
