- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Baguette or hoagie rolls
- Sliced cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- Once done, shred the beef in the crockpot and stir to combine it with the juices.
- Serve the shredded beef on baguette or hoagie rolls with sliced cheese if desired, and offer small bowls of au jus for dipping.
Notes
For ideal flavor, let the beef cook for the full 8 hours and adjust seasoning before serving. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
