Tender beef slow-cooked with onion soup mix, served on crusty rolls with optional melty cheese for a delicious crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 pounds beef roast
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • French rolls or hoagie buns
  • Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the crockpot without trimming much fat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the onion soup mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Pour sauce over the beef roast in the crockpot, coating thoroughly.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
  6. Shred the beef with two forks and mix back into the sauce.
  7. Load shredded beef into French rolls or hoagie buns, adding provolone cheese if desired.
  8. Serve with au jus for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use a chuck roast and cook low and slow for tenderness. Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
