Ingredients

- 2–3 pounds beef roast
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- French rolls or hoagie buns
- Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the crockpot without trimming much fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the onion soup mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour sauce over the beef roast in the crockpot, coating thoroughly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
- Shred the beef with two forks and mix back into the sauce.
- Load shredded beef into French rolls or hoagie buns, adding provolone cheese if desired.
- Serve with au jus for dipping.
Notes
For best results, use a chuck roast and cook low and slow for tenderness. Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
