Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let it sit until frothy.
  3. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl; add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm area.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  7. Spread crushed tomatoes evenly on the dough, leaving a border.
  8. Top with sliced mozzarella and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden.
  10. Add fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

For a crispy pizza, use a pizza stone and preheat it in the oven.
