Ingredients

  • 300g fettuccine pasta
  • 500g ground beef or mixed meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 100g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine: Start by cooking the fettuccine according to the package instructions. Once it’s nice and al dente, drain it and set it aside.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until they soften and start to smell amazing.
  3. Brown the meat: Next, add the ground meat to the skillet. Cook until it’s well browned. Don’t skip this step; it adds lots of flavor!
  4. Stir in tomatoes: Toss in the diced tomatoes along with salt and pepper. Let everything simmer for about 10 minutes to merge those wonderful flavors.
  5. Add cream and cheese: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until everything is combined and creamy.
  6. Combine with pasta: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and gently toss to coat the pasta with the sauce.
  7. Serve and garnish: Serve the dish hot, garnished with fresh basil for a pop of color and flavor.
