Description
A comforting creamy pasta dish featuring sweet caramelized onions, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pasta of choice
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for a vegan option)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or nutritional yeast for a vegan option)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chili oil
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions, salting the water for flavor before draining.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes until caramelized.
- Lower the heat and add the heavy cream to the onions. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing well to coat every noodle with the sauce.
- Drizzle with chili oil and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
