Description

This cream puff cake recipe is like a giant eclair. It’s stuffed with creamy cream cheese filling and drizzled with chocolate syrup.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 4 large eggs

  • 4 cups milk

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

  • 3 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

  • ¼ cup chocolate syrup


Instructions

 
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

     
  2. Combine water and butter in a large, heavy saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil. Add flour and reduce heat to low; cook and stir until forms a ball and pulls away from the pan. Remove from heat; transfer to a large bowl. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

     
  3. Spread dough into bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9×13-inch baking dish.

     
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven; set shell aside until completely cooled.

     
  5. Beat milk and cream cheese together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add pudding mix; beat until thickened. Spread over cooled shell. Top with whipped topping; drizzle with chocolate syrup.
